St Dymphna

 

Lord, God, 

You who have graciously chosen Santa Dymphna

to be the patroness of those who suffer 

mental illnesses and nervous disorders

 and you have turned it into an inspiration and symbol of charity 

To so many who invoke his intercession, he grants,

 Through the prayers of this pure young martyr,

Help and comfort to all who suffer 

these tribulations especially 

(Here the name of the person by whom it is invoked is mentioned).

Please accept and listen to the prayers of 

Santa Dymphna in his name.

Grant to those whom I particularly call upon you,

Patience in their sufferings and resignation to 

Your divine will.

Fill them with hope, and according to Your divine desires,

Grant them the cure they so fervently desire.

Patriarch Saint Joachim and Saint Anne

      Distinguished and glorious Patriarch Saint Joachim and most kind Saint Anne, how I am delighted to consider that you were chosen from among all the saints of God to give divine fulfillment and enrich the world with the great Mother of God, Mary Most Holy! By such a singular privilege, they have come to have the greatest influence upon both Mother and Son to obtain for us the graces we need most.  With great confidence, I appeal to your powerful protection and entrust to you all my spiritual and material needs and those of my family.  Especially the particular grace that he entrusted to her solicitude and earnest desire to obtain through her intercession. As you were a perfect example of interior life, obtain for me the gift of the most sincere prayer.  May I never set my heart on the passing goods of this life.  Give me living and constant love for Jesus and Mary.  Obtain for me sincere devotion and obedience to the Holy Church and the Pope who governs her so that I may live and die with faith, hope, and perfect charity.  May I always invoke the holy Names of Jesus and Mary, and thus save me.  Amen. 

Blessing for your Children

 Children, may your Father in heaven 

watch over you today while Dad is absent,

 may God help you to work hard in school

 and to be good to other children.

Guardian Angel

 

O Holy Angel, since my birth 

you have been my protector. 

 Today I give you my heart, 

give it to my Savior Jesus 

to whom it should belong only.

You are my protector in life: 

you too be my comforter in death.  

Strengthen my faith, 

make my hope firm, 

kindle in me, Divine love.

Grant me not to be disturbed by the past life, 

not to be frightened by the present, 

not to be afraid of the future. 

Strengthen me in the fight of death,

who defended in heaven the throne of the Lord,

St Ildefonso's prayer

 The most beautiful honor to my freedom! 

The greatest and most magnificent title of nobility!

The most glorious and sure guarantee of my greatness, 

which will end in eternal life!

In my poor sadness, for my reparation,

 I wish I became the servant! 

of the Mother of my Lord...!  

I would eagerly wish I was the servant of the Servant!

and Mother of my Creator!

As a docile instrument in the hands of the Sovereign God,

 I would like to be bound to the 

Service of the Virgin Mary, consecrated to her service.  

Grant it to me, Jesus, God the Son of Man. 

Give me this grace, Lord of things and Son of your Handmaid...

Grant me to serve your mother, 

so that you yourself may recognize me by your servant;

and may she be my Sovereign on Earth

 so that you may be my Lord for eternity.

See, my Lord, with what impatience I desire 

to be the servant of this Sovereign;

with what faithfulness I give myself to the joy of his servitude; 

how I desire to become fully a servant of his will; 

 With what ardor I do not wish never to withdraw into her empire, 

and how much I wish never to be torn into her service, 

and, by serving her, to merit her favors and to live forever 

under her command and to love her for all eternity!

My greatest desire in this world is to be the servant of her Son,

 and to have the Sovereign Mother.

And precisely, to be under the rule of her Son, 

I want to serve her; to be admitted to God's service, 

I want Mother to reign over me as a witness.  

To be the most fervent servant of her Son,

 I aspire to be the servant of the Mother.  

For to serve the Servant is also to serve the Lord, 

for what is given to the Mother is reflected on the Son, 

going from the Mother to the One She has nourished, 

and the King will fall upon himself the honor

 that the Queen's servant does.

Amen.  

The day of St Idelfonso is in January 23, it will give a nice gift to this noble saint, servant of our Holy Virgin Mother Mary.
