Rosary

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

V.  Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created.

R. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray:

O God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit instructed the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Spirit, we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Act of Contrition

Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee.  I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God.  Who art all good and deserving of all my love.  I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin.  Amen.

How to Pray the Rosary

Praying the Rosary

The Rosary begins by making the sign of the Cross and reciting the Apostle´s Creed on the crucifix, followed by one Our Father, three Hail Marys, and a Glory Be.  Then, reflecting on the Mysteries of the Rosary, we contemplate significant events in the lives of Jesus and Mary are we pray each of the five decades.  Each decade includes one Our Father, ten Hail Marts, and one Glory Be.  The Rosary is concluded by praying the Hail, Holy Queen.

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Preparatory Prayer

Oh God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech you, that while meditating on these mysteries of the holiest Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise.

Through the same Christ our Lord.

The Apostles´ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontious Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hollowed be Thy name: The kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.  Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Wisdom

Lord, give us the wisdom that judges from above and sees afar.

Give us the spirit that omits the insignificant in favor of the essential.

Teach us to be calm in the face of struggle and obstacles, and to continue in the faith,

without agitation, the path traced by Thee.  Give us a serene activity that encompasses

with a unitary vision of the totality.

Help us to accept criticism and contradiction.

Help us to avoid clutter and scattering.

May we love all things together with you.

O God, source of being, unite us to You and to all that converges into joy and eternity.

Amen.

Prayer of Praise to the Holy Name of Jesus

Oh glorious Name of Jesus, beloved Name, Name of love and power! By You sins are forgiven, enemies are overcome, the sick are freed from diseases, and the afflicted become strong and joyful. You bring honor to the believers, instruct those who preach, give strength to those who work, and comfort to the hopeless. Our love for You is ardent and shines, our prayers are heard, the souls of those who contemplate You are satisfied, and all the blessed in heaven are filled with Your glory. Grant us that we may also reign with them in this Most Holy Name.

FIAT

My beloved father.

May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

  Be your father.

Always be my eternal Father.

Don't abandon my soul.

No, lose sight of me, My Father,

For I am your son, whom you have created to please you,

To worship you, to honor you, using my days

Like you've given me license to live it.
