Profession of faith -Catholic Creed

I believe in one God, Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth,

of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

 the only Son of God,

born of the God before all ages:

God of God, Light of Light,

true God of true God, begotten, not created,

of the same nature as the Father,

by whom all things were made;

that for us men and for our salvation

 he came down from heaven

and by the power of the Holy Spirit

became incarnate of Mary,

the Virgin, and became man;

and for our sake, he was crucified

 in the time of Pontius Pilate;

he suffered and was buried,

and rose again on the third day,

 according to the scriptures,

and ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of the Father;

And again He will come in glory

to judge the living and the dead,

and His kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

Lord and Giver of Life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son

receives the same worship and glory,

and who spoke through the prophets.

I believe in the church,

which is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.

I confess that there is only one baptism

 for the forgiveness of sins.

I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come.

Amen.

Word and Fire

Father, source of light and warmth,

send us your living word and make us accept it without fear

and accept to be embraced by it.

Thy word come, Lord, and,

once thy unquenchable fire is kindled in our hearts,

we ourselves will be bearers of this fire for one another.

Take us, Lord, in warm and luminous words,

capable of setting the world on fire,

so that every man may feel surrounded by

the infinite flames of your love.

Amen.

Charity

In this house of ours, which is the world,

everyone has a right to experience

the light of charity;

no one must be deprived of that light.

May the steadfast love of Saint Therese stir

our hearts...

and help us not to turn our face away from anyone

who is poor, ¨but to keep it always focused

on the human and divine face of

Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ of Calvary

On this evening, Christ of Calvary,
 I came to pray for my sick flesh;
But, seeing you, my eyes
go back and forth from your body
to my body with shame.

How can I complain about my tired feet,
when I see yours shattered?
How do I show you my empty hands
when yours are full of wounds?

How can I explain to you my loneliness,
when on the cross lifted up and you are alone?
How can I explain to you that I have no love
when your heart is torn?

Now I don't remember anything,
all my ailments fled from me.
The impetus of the plea he brought
drowns in my begging mouth.

And I only ask you not to ask for anything,
to be here, right in your dead image,
to learn that pain is only
the holy key of your holy door.
  Amen.

Good Death

¡O God!, who with so many privileges

favored the death of the glorious Saint Benedict,

grant that by the blessed presence of him

whose memory we venerate, we your servants,

may be defended in that hour from the wiles of enemies.

  Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Justice, Solidarity and Peace

God, Father Almighty,

grant us the grace to work tirelessly

for justice, solidarity, and peace,

so that all your children may enjoy

the freedom to choose whether to

migrate or to stay...

Sustain us by the power of your Spirit.

so that we can reflect your tender love

to every migrant whom you place in our path.

and to spread in hearts and in every situation

the culture of encounter and of care.

CONSECRATION TO SAN MICHAEL ARCHANGEL

 To pray every day

The most noble prince of the angelic hierarchy,

brave warrior of the Most High,

lover jealous of the glory of the Lord against the rebellious angels,

love and delight of all righteous angels,

my favorite Archangel St. Michael.

Desiring to belong to the number of your devotees and servants,

I offer myself entirely to you, I give myself and I dedicate myself and I place my whole being,

all my interests, my home, my family, and everything I own under your protection.

The offer of my service is small,

being but a miserable sinner,

but great is the affection of my heart.

Remember that from now on I am under your patronage

and thou shalt assist me in all my life;

grant me forgiveness of the many sins of mine;

obtain for me the grace to love my God with all my heart,

 to my beloved Savior Jesus,

to my sweet Mother Mary and to get what is necessary

so that he may reach the crown of glory.

Always defend me from the enemies of my soul, especially

at the last moment in my life.  Come then, most glorious prince

to assist me in the last fight

and with thy mighty weapon spear away from me,

 in the abyss of hell,

to that prevaricating and proud angel that you prostrated one day

in combat in the sky.

Amen.

(Grant indulgences of 200 days

to whom I devoutly pray this prayer,

once a day, asking for needs

of the Holy Church and by the Supreme Pontiff,

means they're going to take 200 days away from you

of sentence in purgatory).

Agonizing Heart of Jesus

O merciful Jesus burned in ardent love for souls,
I beseech you, for the agony of your Sacred Heart and
for the sorrows of your Immaculate Mother,
that you wash all sinners with your precious blood
of the earth who are in agony and have to die today.

Amen

Invocations

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
comfort them by an Angel in your agony,
Comfort us in our agony.

***
Jesus Meek and Humble of Heart,
make my heart like yours.
***

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
 convert sinners,
save the dying,
Free souls from purgatory.
***

O Eternal Father! I offer you the precious Blood of Jesus,
My Savior, in atonement for my sins
and for the needs of the Holy Church.
***

Heart of Jesus, in You trusted.

Amen.

Prayer for strength

Lord Jesus Christ, teach me to walk humbly before God.

Help me to recognize that without heaven's help,

 I will accomplish nothing.

Humbly, I ask God for all the strength I need that I do not have

and thank Him for His continuous and admirable help.

Asking him to come to the aid of so many poor sinners who are like me,

liable to fall seriously if they do not receive very special help from on high.

Humbly and believing that the Almighty is always by our side

like the air around us, like the light that surrounds us during the day,

and at all present times to help those who ask for support.

Lord may I walk humbly in your presence,

may I never tire of asking for your help

and may I always fulfill that advice of St. Paul.

"We must seek holiness, with fear and trembling

because I can easily fall into temptation.

Amen.

In time of danger

May the power of God sustain me.
 May God's providence preserve me.
 May God's wisdom instruct us.
May the hand of God protect us.
May God's way direct us.
May God's shield defend us.
May an army of God's angels guard us
against the snares of the enemy
and the temptations of the world.
Amen.

Thanksgiving Day

The head of the household should say the following prayer before the Thanksgiving meal.

Lord, continue to bless our country. Show us your love and your solicitude, and bless our nation's leaders—the president, the Congress, the courts.  Enlighten them to govern wisely, to protect the interests of all citizens with justice and true love, and to respect and love your law.  Grant all Americans a firm and constant faith in you.  Kindle in our hearts the desire to sow your spirit and life in the hearts of our compatriots so that your love floods the earth.  Inspire us with true patriotism for this earthly homeland and then, having faithfully served you and our country, let us surely return to our true homeland. Amen.
